Part One contains three sets of exercises: those for voice, accompanied by exercises to support natural breathing and posture.
The three sets run in parallel through the course but are not tied to each other. Thus, for example, breathing exercises 7 to 9 in Unit 2 do not have to be done immediately after voice exercises 2 to 6 in that unit. So it’s your choice how and when to take on the different exercises.
If you prefer, you can concentrate on the voice exercises first, and follow them part of the way through the course, or even to the end, before adding in the exercises on breathing and posture.
Many teachers who have taken the course, though, comment on how much more confident they feel with their learners as a result of the breathing and posture exercises, so you might even want to look at those first.
As you work through the course you will also want to revisit all three types of exercises from earlier units, to reinforce and remind yourself of the techniques and good habits you are developing. The rewards will be worth it.
Each section ends with an optional question that you may find it helpful to think about. You might even want to note down your thoughts as you go along.
