The exercises here start to mix small rising and falling intervals (a tone or semitone). See them as an initial try at expanding your range and technique. Have a go now and then re-visit them periodically to make more progress. 

Practise them as you did the exercises in the previous section: using the six-step sequence, and at different pitches but avoiding breaks in your voice. 

Again as you’ve done before, start each exercise slowly to give yourself more time to focus the tone at each note change.

You will certainly want to keep the words of the friendly phrases to a minimum while you’re getting the hang of the note sequences.

You may well find initially that concentrating on your technique sends your tuning (intonation) off. Technique is the priority: the tuning will come with practice, and we will be looking at that in Unit 5.
